Friday joke
INDIANS DON'T USE SADDLES....
A woman from New York was driving through a remote part of Arizona when her car broke down.
An American Indian on horseback came along and offered her a ride to a nearby town.
She climbed up behind him on the horse and they rode off. The ride
was uneventful, except that every few minutes the Indian would let out a
'Ye-e-e-e-h-a-a-a-a' so loud that it echoed from the surrounding hills.
When they arrived in town, he let her off at the local service
station, yelled one final
'Ye-e-e-e-h-a-a-a-a!' and rode off.
'What did you do to get that Indian so excited?' asked the
service-station attendant. 'Nothing,' the woman answered.
'I merely sat behind him on the horse, put my arms around his waist, and held onto the saddle horn so I wouldn't fall off.'
'Lady,' the attendant said, 'Indians don't use saddles'

Another Father What a Waste!
This past weekend was special. I drove out to St. Louis with a girlfriend, KM, to see another friend, D. Scott Hendrickson, S.J., be ordained as Jesuit priest. I met Scott, one of the sweetest guys I know, through KM. Scott has been in Spain and soon will be in England continuing his studies. Jesuits do not believe in wasting a good mind. One Christmas, he was my dancing partner when the hubby was sick. He is a joy to be around, and can the man salsa!Back to the weekend. Friday, KM & I arrived in St Louis to tornado sirens & pouring rain. We checked in to the Drury Inn Union Station just in time for a nap & then Happy Hour. Afterwards we went to Trader Joe's, then on to Dressel's for a late supper.
Saturday morning we got to witness a very moving ceremony with wonderful music, lunch, then on to the Botanical Gardens for the afternoon. More celebrating that evening on the St Louis Univ. campus. Here, then here.
On Sunday Scott's had his first mass at St. Francis Xavier College Church. That was followed by family friends having a BBQ for family & friends of Scott. We drove home & arrived just before the storm hit Sunday evening.
I'm leaving for another trip after work Thursday. Kanga is staying home with the cats & dogs. You know it's hard to find someone not intimidated by our dogs (222lbs worth of dogs). I'll report that trip next week.

Flying Saucer

Kansas City, Mo
Monday 6/23, 5pm, because Monday is pint night and all drafts cost $2.75.
The KC Power & Light district parking is within the same building complex and is only $2 with validation...or lately you have to pay $2 to a dude right when you go into the garage. The lot across the street is a flat $5 if you park there after 5PM.
Please let me know if you are coming so I can have a head count for tables.
Father Matt Ruhl , My Pastor, My Priest!
Hubby Kanga called me & said that Tony had a nice post about Fr. Matt. Thanks Tony! Little did I know that Kanga posted about Fr. Matt too.

"There are no accidents!"

Tonight I went to the Theater at Ward Parkway ($5 movies Mondays to Thursdays) to see You Don't Mess With the Zohan. Twenty minutes in I'm thinking that this preview is really long when I realize that I went into the wrong movie theater.Towards the beginning of the movie I was reminded of The D: "There's no charge for awesomeness."
"The secret ingredient is nothing! There is no secret ingredient!"
It was great a great movie! I recommend it. Go see Kung Fu Panda. Now that I put the photos up I see some similarity. Go with the Panda. Like I said: "There are no accidents!"

Pittsburgh Penguins WIN!
Weekend Report
Photo from @QueenofSpain. That was fun! Thanks to QueenofSpain for being the motivation, @zenaweist for organizing, Average Jane for shopping for boatload of food, Barkley's for hosting. Damn, they have beer on tap at work! I need to work there. Probably a good thing that I don't. I had parking right in front of the building. Which is freaking amazing if you consider that the Gay Pride festivities were one block south. Now most of you know that I'm a church going catholic. BUT I believe that God accepts & loves ALL of us. So when I saw the guy with the huge wooden cross protesting on the corner I decided that I had to go & support the Gay Pride event. I didn't stay long since I didn't know anybody there. The music was loud, way too much bass. Shit! I sound old. "And stay off my lawn you damn kids!". Anyways, I did hear that I had friends there on Saturday & Sunday.
Heart of America Fiber Festival on a day trip. I showed much restrain and only bought 8 oz of Bamboo roving for spinning, in two beautiful colors. I have a spinning wheel just like this one. We had a great time hanging out with friends that we only see a few times a year. We had supper at Colton's. OMG! Their yeast rolls are the best I have EVER had. We got back in town after 10pm. Tired, happy & full. Hope your weekend was just as great.
