I'm drinking and it's not pretty

I'm so mad I'm drinking. Well, I was planning on drinking before but now I need it. I'm having a girlfriend over Saturday evening while the hubby is out gaming. We will be having chocolate martinis. I stopped on the way home for a few supplies. I just finished one & find it difficult to type. Frigging typos! The reason I NEED to drink is this. Kanga, the hubby, was told by his boss that she doesn't want him to take vacation in August like we have for like maybe the last freaking decade. I was so upset ( sad, angry....) that I was in tears. Both my sisters (maybe the brothers in law also) have take time off in August to spend with us while we are in Quebec. Because of Kanga taking classes we have gone in August for years now. He is determined to keep at the degree in hopes of graduating ASAP. So there is no way of him taking a vacation during the Fall semester. Personally, I would much prefer to go home in the Fall. It so beautiful then. So as of this minute I am going home by myself in August. He will take vacation days here & there. Working around his class schedule he will go out to Rochester to see his brother & help with his mom moving in there. I've given my mom a heads up on this. She was thinking that maybe he didn't want to go to Canada. Which couldn't be farther from the truth. He loves it there as much as I do. FUCK! This pisses me off! What was that you said Nightmare " A furore Normannorum libera nos, Domine!" And I said don't piss off a Northwoman. Well, it's happened. I'm going to the kitchen to make another martini. This last one is wearing off.

that flat out sucks. my sympathies.

maybe it's time to move kit and kin back north? i know i've seriously looked -though in the vancouver or on vacouver isle- for the last two years. the only drawback is finding work that pays comparably so Nora and the Astas can stay home. i've come close, as you might expect, in vancouver a couple of times, but neither time did things quite work out...

but i don't have family up there to track down job leads and such. might be an option...

I'd be disappointed and angry too.

Nightmare - Sorry! Kanga asked that I delete your comment. I love your support but Kanga was freaking. I think he let slip in his office that he blogs so he was worried that they would come across your comment. Thanks for the support. Love ya!

I don't understand how (with this much advance notice) they can NOT work around a vacation in August. :shakes head:
That sucks, hon. Oh, and I could really use one or six of those chocolate martinis right now.

Kanga here, folks.

Nigthmare: Sorry to ask for the comment to be pulled, but my boss is also a good friend. Without her faith in me a decade ago I would have had a much tougher and probably less successful career path. I appreciate the support of my lovely wife and me, believe me, and I wish this was going the way we wanted it.

Plazajen: I work at a college, and August is when all the kids come back, so it's really, for me, one of the year's busiest times. I got away with August vacations for a few years. Just not this time.

Shicho: My goal is to someday to retire to Quebec with the wiff. Winters here, though. By then global warming should be in full swing.

Thanks peeps! Your support... has... well...supported me above the funk ( not to be confused with the KC mayor) that I was descending into. I'm still bummed. But at least I'm not crying...

And to my KC Blogger gang the emails have cracked me up. I can tell when you leave work, as they ended then. LOL!

Hey I know I am late to the game tonight, but I wanted you and Kanga to know I feel for you.

The place I work is already canceling vacations (and employees college classes)from April 09 until ??? because of a potential shift in the business. I don't take structured vacations but I appreciate what they mean to people.

Take care and enjoy the chocolate martinis (does that sound wrong to anybody else, kinda like tasty assamich?)

Hubby trying to cheer me up had 2 dozen roses (from Costco) waiting for me when I got home tonight. What a guy! And it's not even his fault.
