Snakes! It had to be snakes!

Got home after work & decide to give the dogs some ball time. Trooper loves to retrieve his tennis ball. Well, he was very interested in one particular tree. I went over to check it out, thinking that he had a bunny cornered. But nooooooo. It was a garter snake. I HATE SNAKES!!!!!

Snakes are the deb-il!!! I hate those things. Just like Indy, I have an uncontrollable, unexplainable fear of them...which is weird because my Chinese zodiac sign is Fire Snake. Go fig...

One of the most traumatic experiences of my childhood was when a water moccassin slithered into our house and my mom broke a rake trying to kill it, only to be saved by our optometrist neighbor, may he rest in eternal, blissful peace for saving us all...

BTW...you had Gates today and I am jealous. If I could take their Original Sauce intervenously, I would. Try it on frozen burritos for a pleasant suprise. Quite tasty...but then again...everything, save chocolate cake, tastes better doused in Gates...or maybe that's just me...nevermind.

You hate snakes? So does Indian Jones!

Moxie- Tell me the neighbor didn't die from the snake. Holy F! I'm a monkey. I go to Gates once a week. I'm probably the only vegetarian that goes there on a regular basis.

The D- Really?

garter snakes are adorable!

i've seen a couple slithering around in the backyard already and it keeps the ancillarlry 'pests' issue down - mice, frogs an dinsects.

though, i've had to warn the Asta's that where you see garter snakes, king snakes usually follow: they'll eat garters like crazy! Nummy. Anyhow, kings are pretty large and can frighten kids so i wanted them to be aware...

you've got dogs, huh?

need cats, if you want to ward off garters. or king snakes!

I need to know where exactly you found the little bastards -- and I will avoid it at all costs -- I'm deathly afraid of snakes and all the evil they represet.

damn fine looking snake!

it's always fun to see people's reactions the first time they look up and see a large snake looming over them from a tree branch. lol. it happens out at swope golf course all the time. there's one particular tree next to the ladies tee on the 13th that we see a couple of huge black snakes hanging out in all the time...

snakes don't bother me too much, but i have to admit that seeing a king snake in a tree gives me the wilys 'cause they look so much like coral snakes (read: poisonous)...

so, what's up with the snakes? mean uncle tease you with one when you were young?

Okay - I found the answer to your snake problems here.WARNING - not suitable for younger eyes.

[...in fact, probably not a good idea if there are kids under 10 anywhere in the neighborhood. but it will definitely get rids of snakes]
