I had posted this as a comment at Nightmare's site Smells Like Bullshit.
From the age of 5 till I was about 17 years old my father was a divorcee. He would have us kids over the summer (the rest of the time, we kids were with mom in Canada). Dad was definitely a player. We had a whole new ration of girlfriends each summer. Hmmm I guess when I was divorced I was just taking after Dad. Those were the bad old days.
Just trying to keep all my shit in one bag.

Actually, I'm alive because of comics.
XO of at Hip Suburban White Guy has a post about comics.
Along time ago, there use to be pen pals in the back of comic books. As a joke a girlfriend of my mom's submitted mom's name and address. Mom lived in Quebec, Canada ( still does). Dad lived in Florida ( still does). But some how they met, fell in love, had 4 kids, then got divorced. So because of comics I was born.

A 1st today
I'm very excited! Looked outside today at my bird feeder there was Yellow/Gold finches. I've never had those here before. I've had lots of cardinals, chickadees, house finches (pink color), mourning doves, jays, robins, tufted titmouse, wrens, juncos, squirrels and the occasional raccoon. I love all the birds.
Thursday evening I planted two small white oak trees on our south side yard. There was 2 deer laying on our north side yard. I love our home/property.

I'm so glad that's over!
No good deed goes unpunished. Remember that! I nominated a friend from work for an award. She deserves it. No question. She contacted me & told me that she would receive the award and that I had to introduce her at the faculty supper. So tonight I had to stand in front of at least 100 to 150 people. Mostly professors who speak in front of people all the time and have for decades. I was so nervous!!!! But I was told that I did well. She got a nice plaque and a check for $250. So just before they called my name I look down & my name tag is gone. Oh well no big deal. Call my name I stand up and take two steps in the direction of the podium & find my name tag. There sticking out from under one of my high heels. I stop reach down pull it off take 2 steps back to my table & hand it to someone there as it is now sticking to my hand. Argh! That did break a bit of my tension. All in all a nice evening, a beer, a nice meal, visit with good people. I'm so glad that's over.

My head is going to explode!!!!
Mother of God! My head is going to explode!!!! At least it feels that way. I wish it would and be done with it all. Could be the weather, could be sinus. I'm having a hell of a time seeing & concentrating. Just took a Sudafed. Hope that does something.

Chainsaw Saturday
You can't really tell from the photo what I'm doing. I'm cutting a stump real low with my chainsaw. I get to play with it today. Woohoo! Once I'm ready I'm heading to Gladstone to a girlfriend's to do some cutting. She gets rid of the big tree limb that fell in her yard & I get some firewood.
Well, that took longer than I thought it would. She had a redbud that had issues. Kind of a three trunk tree with one of the trunks slowly dying. A closer look revealed ants & termites. So I ended up cutting that part of the tree down. It was all rotted on the inside. She put the buggy wood down by the curb away from the houses.
Also got to meet her neighbors who have a great dog that they need to find a home for. Luna is a beautiful spayed collie, with shots, about 2 years old. She is very sweet and gives kisses. They already have a dog & a baby, and a couple of cats. I think Luna is from one of the grandparents. I know not to ask XO. :-)

What I did last night
John Northern played every song on his new CD! Which he was selling there for only $10. I bought one as a gift. Great evening! His lovely/wild wife was there & I got to hang with her for a bit. Bob Walkenhorst played afterwards. Much rocking going on!!!
John Northern and the Bean Blossoms will start at 7:00pm on 4/18/07 at the Record Bar. Bob Walkenhorst, Jeff Porter, Norm ( sorry can't remeber his last name, but he also plays with the Elders)will start around 8pm.
VILLAGE RECORDS BIO of John Northern: If the Traveling Wilburys had been Roy Orbison, Leonard Cohen, Roger Miller and Waylon Jennings - this is what it might have sounded like. John Northern is that guy that lives 3 doors down that you never knew was a songwriting genius until you wander into a Kansas City coffeehouse one night and there he is, being one. John's songs combine simple chord changes, beautiful contagious melodies, and lyrics like you've never heard before. Appearing in John's lyrics are King Kong, Fay Wray, Grandma Moses, the fire department and little green men - and that's just the first song. Immaculate minimalist production (and drums) by former Rainmaker Bob Walkenhorst is light on the touch and heavy on the reverb. With cool guy Jeff Porter on piano and electric guitar now and then. This is traditional acoustic folk music that goes someplace completely different. Get the picture? - this is good.

Tattoos
One of my guilty pleasures is watching Miami Ink on TLC. I have two tattoos. First one I got October 30th, 1993, second one September 9th, 2002. I need to have my first one redone as it's fading. It's a spider & web. Any suggestions as to where I should go?
