Chainsaw Saturday

You can't really tell from the photo what I'm doing. I'm cutting a stump real low with my chainsaw. I get to play with it today. Woohoo! Once I'm ready I'm heading to Gladstone to a girlfriend's to do some cutting. She gets rid of the big tree limb that fell in her yard & I get some firewood.
Well, that took longer than I thought it would. She had a redbud that had issues. Kind of a three trunk tree with one of the trunks slowly dying. A closer look revealed ants & termites. So I ended up cutting that part of the tree down. It was all rotted on the inside. She put the buggy wood down by the curb away from the houses.
Also got to meet her neighbors who have a great dog that they need to find a home for. Luna is a beautiful spayed collie, with shots, about 2 years old. She is very sweet and gives kisses. They already have a dog & a baby, and a couple of cats. I think Luna is from one of the grandparents. I know not to ask XO. :-)

You had your chainsaw, and I had my sawzall...we tore down the hideous screened in porch in our backyard, today.

I'm tired...but it was fun watching that monstrosity hit the ground!!

By the way, it was nice to meet you last tuesday, and I really like you and your husband's blog.

I love deconstruction! You have to be so much more careful with construction. I think every woman when she hits 45 (sooner if possible) should have a chainsaw (a sawzall works) it scares the hell out the husband. I won't even let him use it.

You got bigger balls than me. I won't go near a chainsaw.

Or a nailgun.

In fact, my 10 years as a homeowner taught me that everytime I touch a tool it's just going to cost me money.

Better just to hire someone who knows what he/she is doing and stick to what I know best.

Surfin' for porn.

Well, I have been told that I have big brass ones that clang when I walk.

I'm very lucky that my husband is very handy with tools. He's a programmer now but has worked in construction in the past. Also, early in our marriage we had to learn how to do stuff ourselves since we were so broke. Of course when it came to the sewer line we called the professionals. We have enough dog & cat shit to deal with.

Finally a woman that enjoys cutting trees and branches.

I have to stick to the smaller branches as I do it manually. My husband doesn't want me to touch his chainsaw.

I say that every woman should have a chainsaw. It scares the Hell out of the husbands. I won't let the hubby use mine. But he has sharpened it twice for me.
