Wild Thing
Two years ago, I asked the hubby to help me pick a song to request for our anniversary. We were going to the Record Bar to listen to Bob Walkenhorst to celebrate. I emailed the hubby (we were at work) the list of songs Bob has performed. A bit later I received an email from him saying that he had picked the perfect one. So 2 years ago, over lunch, after mass we renewed our vows with friends & co-workers present. After work, we went to Genghis Khan Mongolian BBQ. Then we went to the Record Bar for an evening of music. Since that night, on our 20th wedding anniversary our song has been Wild Thing. Bob did a great rendition. The crowd loved that it was a song of true love. The 27th will be our 22nd anniversary. And we will request Bob to perform "our song".

What I did last night

John Northern played every song on his new CD! Which he was selling there for only $10. I bought one as a gift. Great evening! His lovely/wild wife was there & I got to hang with her for a bit. Bob Walkenhorst played afterwards. Much rocking going on!!!
John Northern and the Bean Blossoms will start at 7:00pm on 4/18/07 at the Record Bar. Bob Walkenhorst, Jeff Porter, Norm ( sorry can't remeber his last name, but he also plays with the Elders)will start around 8pm.
VILLAGE RECORDS BIO of John Northern: If the Traveling Wilburys had been Roy Orbison, Leonard Cohen, Roger Miller and Waylon Jennings - this is what it might have sounded like. John Northern is that guy that lives 3 doors down that you never knew was a songwriting genius until you wander into a Kansas City coffeehouse one night and there he is, being one. John's songs combine simple chord changes, beautiful contagious melodies, and lyrics like you've never heard before. Appearing in John's lyrics are King Kong, Fay Wray, Grandma Moses, the fire department and little green men - and that's just the first song. Immaculate minimalist production (and drums) by former Rainmaker Bob Walkenhorst is light on the touch and heavy on the reverb. With cool guy Jeff Porter on piano and electric guitar now and then. This is traditional acoustic folk music that goes someplace completely different. Get the picture? - this is good.

Bra
I was at the Record Bar tonight. I'm sitting there and I have this painful jab in my armpit area. Damn bra! The underwire on one side is poking through. I tried to tough it out but the end was sharp. So I took my knife out of my purse & headed to the bathroom. I was able to pull the wire out of the offending side but had to cut out the other side. I wish men had to wear jockstraps all the time. It would only be fair.
On another note Bob Walkenhorst's show tonight was great.
